Application of sodium polyacrylate in water treatment
In general, partial water decomposition products should be used for the treatment of high turbidity water. The sedimentation rate of sodium polyacrylate with the best degree of hydrolysis (hydrolysis degree refers to the percentage of amide group converted into hydroxyl group in sodium polyacrylate molecule) is 2-9 times of non-aqueous disintegration. However, the flocculating effect of the products with too high or too low degree of hydrolysis is not ideal, because the degree of hydrolysis is too low and the adsorption and bridging capacity is not strong. If the hydrolysis degree is too high, the anion performance of the product is enhanced and the repulsion ability with soil particles is increased. The optimum hydrolysis degree of polyacrylate sodium flocculant is 25% ~ 35%. The optimum hydrolysis degree should be 25% - 35%.
Sodium polyacrylate, a water treatment agent, is a national standard of the people's Republic of China, No. gb17514-1998, approved by the State Bureau of quality and technical supervision on October 19, 1998 and implemented on April 1, 1999.
Polyacrylate sodium flocculant is one of the best flocculants for treating high turbidity water. It has been used for more than 30 years in China since 1960s. Through the joint efforts of many scientific research and design units, colleges and universities, users and manufacturers in China, a large number of research results and experience have been obtained in the treatment of high turbidity water in the Yellow River system and the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, which provides a bright future and scientific data for the development of water purification process in China and the formulation of the national standard of sodium polyacrylate.
